VINTAGE  fILM NIGHT: LEDBURY OX ROAST, 1953

For this HEREFORDSHIRE HISTORIES FESTIVAL EVENT we will be showing the film of the Ledbury Ox Roast.

Where were you on Coronation Day in 1953?  We would love to know!  Perhaps you were huddled round your new-fangled gadget called a television set, watching the events as they unfolded in London.   Or maybe you took part in this local celebration in the shadow of the Market House.  Newspapers of the day reported that 7,000 people took part.  The event was filmed by the station-master and edited some years later to produce this footage.
