Stephen Ballard: a remarkable man. This presentation on his life will focus on the early years around the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust, with stories of his life, studying botany, working a gardener, then a builder, then becoming clerk of the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal. He did not stop learning as he travelled developing his knowledge that he brought back to Herefordshire, and we can still see the results of his work.Â
